Laois County Childcare Committee’s AGM
Laois County Childcare’s AGM is being held on 10th June in the Portlaoise Parish Centre. There is currently a vacancy for a Pre-School Representative. If you are interested in becoming a pre-school representative, you can download information on the roles of parent representatives. Also, the Parent Nomination Forms can be downloaded here
FREE Pre-school Year (ECCE Scheme)
Laois County Childcare Committee would like to advise any parents who are planning on sending their child to primary school in September and would like to avail of the Free Pre-School Year, that they must enroll their child immediately.
In order to enroll a child this January under the scheme the child must be aged between 3 years 7 months and 4 years 10 months In order to avail of the Scheme a parent must register their child in a pre-school, a list of which is available to download below or by calling Laois County Childcare.

Once enrolled in a childcare service you will then be asked to complete a parental declaration form containing your child’s Name, Date of Birth, and PPS number. For Parents participating in the FREE Pre-School year in January these forms must be returned to your childcare service by June.

Parent & Toddler Group Initiative Grants 2010
Funded by the Irish Government under the National Childcare Investment Programme 2006-2010
Application forms must be returned by 14th May 2010
Laois County Childcare Committee has been charged with administering the Katherine Howard Foundation funding for the Parent & Toddler Initative again in 2010. Groups are entitled to apply for a maximum of €600, however monies granted may vary depending on the volume of applications received, and we may not be able to allocate all groups the maximum amount of funding. If all funding is not utilized with the applications we receive, then the funding will continue to be available on an ongoing first come – first served basis.
Below please find application form which can be downloaded. When you have this form complete please send back before 14th May to Laois County Childcare, 6 Lismard Court, Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
