Parent and Toddler Grant (Extended until 30th November)

Information on grants available:

Applications for funding under this scheme should only be made by Parent & Toddler Groups that are organised on a not for profit basis and involve the participation of all parents in the community. The aim of the grants scheme is to support the development and sustainability of Parent & Toddler Groups.

Funding will be available for:

Training courses (e.g. paediatric first aid, committee skills, parenting etc.) where these can be conducted remotely and are completed in this calendar year
Children’s activities (e.g. arts and crafts, music) where Laois CCC is satisfied that these can be carried on safely under Covid-19 health protocols
Expenditure on rent and insurance will be allowed up to 100% of total funding on the provision that the grantee can demonstrate to Laois CCC the need for P&T funding to meet these costs rather than from the P&T group’s own resources. Financial records relating to this spend must be maintained and it should be noted that the raising of the threshold from 30% to 100% of funding for this element is strictly on a once off basis for 2020.

Funding will not be available for:

Groups operating out of private homes
Groups that are not open to all parents in the community
Groups with an excess of €3,000 or more income in 2019
Groups that received Parent & Toddler Initiative funding in 2019 and did not return the Progress Report & Receipts
Outings, once off events and parties
Trips of any kind
Existing groups who do not submit evidence of appropriate insurance when making their application

Application forms for the grant must be returned by Monday 30^th November 2020

Simple financial records are important for groups in receipt of grants as they offer protection for all involved. However, newly formed groups do not need to provide a financial record until they are in existence for one year.
