Just to reiterate the timeframe outlined is that of October 1st . All parents wishing to seek a special class or special school placement must contact the NCSE  via the link above with relevant documentation prior to October 1st. This is to support forward planning and to facilitate the NCSE in working with DEY and Planning and Building Unit to ensure for sufficient placement options for children at a local level.

All local SENOs will be engaging with parents and schools to highlight this process also and to provide support to those parents/guardians seeking placement for September 2026.
